About Marcel Mensah

Marcel is an illustrator and digital communications specialist focused on visual storytelling & brand development.

Marcel is also an Anthem Award winner (in the Diversity Equity and Inclusion category) for his work alongside Rare Beauty — and an artist with public art projects across New England.

About Me:

Since the start of his career, Marcel has worked alongside non-profits, small and large businesses and advocacy organizations across the country. He specializes in brand development, social media marketing, Illustration & videography.

Marcel’s work has resulted in:

  • Millions of impressions, sign-ups and actions for his clients — across platforms.

  • Major political campaigns passing (like the Fair Share Amendment).

  • The passing of important, progressive policy across New England

  • Organizations reaching underserved communities in way they haven’t been able to before.

  • Millions of dollars in grant funding.

Today, Marcel runs a storytelling studio called ONYX Creative Department that supports change-based organizations in New England with graphic design, videography, and marketing. He is also the founder of LONER Magazine, a print and digital magazine with a focus on counterculture and artist projects that can change the world (at a time distributed in 8 countries).

Marcel has been a guest lecturer at institutions like the Rhode Island School of Design, Microsoft and Johnson & Wales University and would love to speak at more institutions in the future.
